Mark and everyone else in LCC should pat them self on the back
because yes our team has inspired us as well as many others within and even
outside our state
with our progress in getting more activity

In the past it was relatively easy to attain first place within our state
if you choose the right category to compete in
things are changing for the better
as we want competition not a free plaque !

here are some of my other thoughts I posted on the contest
reflector...........

We again had a blast as the hoist of the North West Louisiana Multi-OP SS
Phone Team
"Boys from the North"

OPS were

KA5M, N5FH, K5RV, K5SL, N5SH, KF5XV, Myself (KG5VK) and the new member of
our team Chris WX5CW
and attending in memory Richard Lea NZ5S (Richard was lost to cancer early
this year and is a silent key)

Our score was improved over last year when AE5T took first place from us
although I doubt we will take first place, I bet we had the most fun !!!!!!!

Our breakdown was

80m 307
40m 337
20m 401
15m 44

A clean sweep attained with Marsh KA5M working KP4 Sunday morning
Total score 174,240 points.

Rumor has it that Mark K5ER of LCC managed 154,240 points as a single OP
(way to go Mark)
and AE5T will take first place from us again this year in Multi-op, but we
still had a ton of fun.

I will have more thoughts on this "A larger Team versus a small efficient
Team" in the Sundown DX Association Blog
<http://www.sdxa.blogspot.com/>later this week.

More than a few postings from other ops on the 3830 reflector indicate they
did not manage a sweep and never found KP4

We are excited that our state now has a contest club (The Louisiana Contest
Club) and hope to see it continue to grow, even though this brings us more
competition for first place in LA, a first place plaque on the wall is a
small sacrifice for more contest camaraderie within our state !

By the way you know your a real Sweepstakes contester when your mom
shouts *"Did
ya Sweep, yet ?"* across the fence
while I was giving some guest ops a Sunday morning tour of the antenna farm

*We did and we had a blast !*

Thanks to all that have worked us and the Ham Radio spirit that lives in
every one of us !
