Antenna / Station Maintenance Work Days @ W5WZ

-- Friday Oct 11 and Saturday Oct 12, beginning at 8:00 A.M.

We have rented a 55-foot aerial lift. There will also be some tower
climbing required, as well as on the ground work. Items on the to do
list include:

ABOVE GROUND WORK
=================
1. Repair 40-meter Yagi at 52-feet above ground. Problem is likely
related to feedpoint hairpin/balun connections, bad balun,
burned/corroded UHF connectors, or compromised feedline to base of
tower.

2. Repair 15-meter Yagi at 52-feet above ground. Problem is definitely
releated to feedpoint hairpin/balun connections.

3.  Move 80-meter Inverted-Vee from 77-feet to 105-feet.  Extend
feedline as required. Tie out ends as required.

4. Use lift to cut down ash tree in sections. Also trim a few trees
behind shop.

5. Move 160-meter Inverted-L, and install with elevated radials in new
location. Tie top support rope off near top of tower. Run hardline as
feedline to new feedpoint.

6. Re-arrange several wire antennas supported by trees. Replace string
with new antenna rope.

7. Use lift to rework 17-meter tower
	-Add backstay.
	-Secure new hardline and control cable to tower, leaving loop for
tilt-over.
	-Replace rotator loop feedline.
	- ?? Maybe attach a 2nd hardline for future use ??

ON THE GROUND WORK
==================
8. String new beverage wire for SW direction. Run feedline on the
ground. Drive 2 ground rods, install transformer and feed point
termination.

9. Complete new beverage for SE direction. Run feedline on the ground.
  Drive 2 ground rods, install transformer and feed point termination.

10. Assist with wire antenna tie-offs.

11. Clear trimmed branches out of the way.
