"The super-zero-beat thing is hugely annoying on the receiving end.  It
definitely slows things down from a rate perspective.  I wish more operators
would introduce a small amount of offset into their transmit frequency when
answering spots.

These are words of wisdom from an op who has been on "the other end" of an
8000 QSO CW contest effort. 
I learned to do this from N5WA who has been a CW op for 60+ years. It works
like magic. Just go split and shift up or down 50- 100 Hz. The DX station
who is running wants to work you and move on, Anything you can do to make it
easier for him to copy your call is a good thing.
