[LCC] To the select group of DXER's (this is food forthought) and sent to a BCC list (blind copy of email addresses)

Hi Don,

Glad to hear ClubLog helped you get to #354 mixed. That’s a significant achievement in the world of DXing.

My “problem” as related to DXCC totals being shown on ClubLog is not Club log’s fault. It’s due to the way the ARRL kept records in days gone by.

Two things I really like about Clublog: If you want to know the last time there was ham radio activity from some specific entity, ClubLog has the info by date by band. And, so far, Club log’s OQRS has worked 100% for me.

Thanks to whoever got me to upload my log to CLUBLOG in the first place. Not sure which LCC member it was (maybe you Steve?). CLUBLOG helped me realize I had worked (and confirmed) a deleted entity that I didn’t know about.

When I first submitted my log, the resulting email from CLUBLOG that showed that my log entry for a QSO with VQ9HCS on 15M SSB on December 6, 1974 should count for Aldabra instead of Seychelles. I had never heard of Aldabra so I started investigating and sure enough, I found that my contact should count for Aldabra which is now a deleted entity (only contacts made June 28, 1976 or before count). But I couldn’t find the card even though my log showed I had received one.

I found a picture of the QSL card on the Internet and it showed WA1HAA as QSL manager. WA1HAA is now K1SE (Bill). I sent Bill email and he told me that Ed, W1OX, currently has the logs and he copied Ed on the email. Ed found me in the log and sent me a card!

I contacted Bill Moore at the ARRL DXCC list and he confirmed that the card will count for Aldabra.

If I hadn’t uploaded to CLUBLOG, I would have never found this. It will be my #354 mixed if I never get around to submitting it. Since deleted entity cards cannot be checked by field checkers, I’ll have to wait until I go to Dayton again or else risk sending it off to Newington via snail mail.

I for one am not on the Clublog LCC DXCC list.

The reason is simple. I have, according to ARRL LoTW totals, 335 of the current 340 DXCC entities confirmed. Clublog shows me as having about 280 something. The entities confirmed but not listed were added to my ARRL records from paper QSL cards submitted to the DXCC desk long before LoTW existed. At the time they were submitted ARRL did not include band and mode information in the QSO record data. So, the QSO data for those entities is not included when I download my stats from LoTW if I wanted to send them to Clublog.

It just doesn’t mean that much to me to have my current totals on Clublog. I’m got other things I’d rather spend my time doing than figuring out which DXCC entities Clublog doesn’t have for me and manually adding them.

It took years for it to happen and at times I thought we would never get LCC on the clublog clubs lists...

So I am wondering if you see your call below.......

I see several LCC members that are not on this chart
and I know very well two of them have very high DXCC numbers

Yes Randy K5SL, I am talking about YOU among others :)

Joining http://clublog.org is FREE

Then just download your current DXCC stats from LOTW and then upload that adif file to clublog
unless you are embarrassed by those stats and there is no reason for that as well all start some where in our DXCC chase

And becoming a member of the LCC clublog group is a simple email request
(which for LCC members will be approved very quickly)

if your not a current LCC member , why not ????

Cheers!

Steve
