Hope everyone is having a good holiday season. We gave a
presentation of the proposed LaQP rules at the last LCC meeting and
after many more emails and re-writes that expected, we are happy to
announce the Louisiana Qso Party (LaQP) rules for 2014 are now complete.

We also have a brand new web site specifically for the
event, laqp.org. We still have a few additions coming, but we invite
everyone to take a look.

We have contacted a few of the more popular logging software
authors. We will soon be posting the info on cq-contest, letting the
world know the date and rules, and asking all the other logger
authors to review our rules and insure that their packages operate
and score correctly, including the new bonus station, N5LCC.

Although many active contesters participate in state QP's,
many of those active will be county hunters and non-contesters. While
you should "run" as much as possible, to give out more LA contacts,
be prepared to slow down to walk some through their very first
Louisiana contact. We encourage ALL Louisiana stations to get on and
operate as much as possible, especially those in the "rarer" parishes.

In order to encourage more participation, we added several
categories and now have 81 certificates available to be won! We hope
you will take a look at the new LaQP web site, review the rules, and
plan to be on the air on March 22. Remember to have fun.

"laissez les Contests roulez!" (Let the Contests roll!)

Merry Christmas!

For the LaQP contest committee,
Mark, K5ER
