Fellow club members,
Its now time to cast your ballot for our officers for the upcoming
year. We have the option to do this at the live meeting, Saturday October 6
at the Pineville hamfest, OR by online voting. For those who haven't made
plans to attend the meeting, but who do want to exercise there right to
vote, go to the club web site, and just below the scrolling red banner,
click the link for ballot form. The actual ballot page is password
protected, but the user and password are right there on the right, in a
box, and they ARE case sensitive.
We had no nominations during the last meeting, and the online
option only netted us one nominee each for President, Vice President and
Secretary/Treasurer. With no opposition, these three will be be considered
elected by acclamation, but still appear on the ballot page. There were
three valid nominees for the Directors positions. Please make your choice
for ONLY TWO. When done, hit the "submit" button and your vote will be
emailed to each of the election committee's members, who have been tasked
to receive, tally and bring to the live meeting the results of all online
voting.
Speaking of the meeting, the LOCATION HAS CHANGED. There was a
booking conflict and the hamfest has moved from Kees Park to the Pineville
Community Center at 708 Main Street in Downtown Pineville. This is also US
165 Business Route. For those who are GPS savy, the coordinates are:
31° 19' 17.82 N 92° 26' 05.42W OR
31.321949 lat and -92.435292 lon
Its actually not hard to find. Take the same exit that we usually
take for Kees Park, but instead of going East on Hwy 28, go West on
Griffith Street for about 3 blocks. Turn LEFT onto Donahue Ferry road and
after about 2/3 mile, go left onto Military Highway/Main Street/US 165
Business. The community center will be 6/10 of a mile on the left.
Our meeting time is set for 10 AM, and there IS another meeting
immediately after ours. Because we have several business items to cover and
we will have limited time, we will not try to squeeze in a presentation,
but rather will have some discussion of several items of interest to the
club. On the other hand, Steve, KG5VK participated in a multi at TI5 last
year, and has a very nice presentation he will be sharing at one of the
upcoming meetings in 2013.
See you Saturday.
73,
Mark, K5ER
