The last "Major" contest of the 2008-2009 season comes up this weekend. The
CQ WPX CW starts Saturday, May 30 at 0000 (local Friday night @ 7 PM) and
runs for 48 hours. Single Ops can run for 36 hours max. Complete rules are
available at http://www.cqwpx.com/ .

There IS a club competition category, so be sure your cabrillo log shows
"Louisiana Contest Club". Both single AND multi op entrants may contribute
scores to their club, but they MUST be within the 275 Km radius centered on
the club center (see our club coverage area at
http://louisianacontestclub.org/maps.htm , and click on "select a club
radius" and pick 275 Km. Virtually the entire state is in the circle,
except extreme NW Caddo and Extreme SE Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes.

Thanks to some generous donations, the LCC is the proud sponsor of the
Plaque for North America for this contest. It would be great to see the
club well represented in the competition as well.

The exchange is simple and quick, RST and serial number, and with prefixes
as mults, it is always a high scoring contest and lots of fun. Whether you
plan a full time serious operation or have just a few hours available, get
on and have some fun!

See you on the air.

73!
Mark, K5ER
