Mark your calendars now to attend the ARRL Louisiana State Convention &
Northeast Louisiana Regional Ham RadioFest on Saturday, April 25th,
2009

Come enjoy commercial vendors, forums, food and beverages , fellowship,
door prizes and much more . . .

Hours:
Doors will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. Saturday and run through mid
afternoon.
Set-up: Friday, April 24th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Admission & Prize Tickets:

Admission is $5, which gives you a chance at the Grand Prizes and door
prizes. Additional prize tickets will be available for purchase (1 for
$1.00 or 6 for $5.00)

Grand Prizes:
1st prize: Yaesu FT-450AT has the built in tuner.
2nd prize: Yaesu FT-60R Dual Band HT.
3rd prize: Yaesu FT-2800 2 meter Mobile.

VE Testing at 9 a.m.

Testing will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Forums begin at 10 a.m.
10 a.m. - Louisiana Contest Club, Forum and meeting.
Forum will be on RTTY Contesting, presented by KI5XP, with meeting to follow.
Meeting will include annual election of officers and time permitting, 
discussion of changes you plan to make before the next contest season.

11 a.m. - ARRL/ARES/NTS - Join Louisiana Section Manager, Gary
Stratton, K5GLS along with Section Emergency Coordinator, Jim Coleman,
AI5B and other section and league officials for a discussion on the
latest ARRL news and activities including updates on ARES and NTS. Our
HQ guests will be Steve Ewald WV1X (ARRL Field Organization Supervisor)
and Mickey Cox K5MC (Delta Division Director)

Noon - To Be Announced ...

"Hands on" with Radio:

The Northeast Louisiana ARES Mobile Communications Van will be on site
for anyone wanting to operate HF. If you are new to ham radio or
interested in getting a license and want to make a contact this will be
a perfect opportunity to try it out.
D-Star Demonstration:

Learn more about what D-Star is and ask questions. The W5SHV D-Star
Team will be on site to demonstrate the latest D-Star radio gear.
Test Bench:

Want to make sure that radio works before you buy ? We will have a test
bench available to help you out.

trailer hookups, for which the facility charges $16 per night.
