It is now <br>February 20, and we are still only at about a 40% retention rate. I <br>would like to encourage all who wish to remain members in good <br>standing to visit the club web page <br>http://www.louisianacontestclub.org/dues.htm to pay via paypal, or <br>for the address to send a check. We have a few who are more than 2 <br>years in arrears, and we will be purging the rolls soon, to reflect <br>current/active members.<br><br> Speaking of such, although the books are up to date, the LaQP <br>certificates were sent out, and the LaQP site has been updated, <br>(remember to take part coming up on March 18), I have not been <br>actively contesting or cheer leading /team forming before contests <br>for about 18 months. Thankfully, around mid-May, I'll be a new <br>college graduate and (once I go to work) plan to return to my former <br>activity level in contesting and club activities. I appreciate the <br>positive comments and support from those who knew what I was up to. I <br>also appreciate the patience from the club, as my time has been very <br>limited during the time I have been focusing on school, but I feel <br>sure the commitment will be worth the sacrifice.<br><br> We use the money generated by dues to keep up the primary <br>Louisiana Contest Club and LaQP web sites, to purchase certificates <br>and postage for the LaQP winners, and to purchase plaques for <br>several contests, along with other normal club expenses. We recently <br>sponsored the plaque for the Ten Meter RTTY contest for a two year <br>period (in conjunction with ARRL). We also just received a thank you <br>for the CQ WPX CW plaque we sponsor, and are working to renew that <br>sponsorship. Because of your club membership, we are able to continue <br>to participate in activities to give back to the contest community, <br>and the board appreciates your commitment and monetary participation <br>via dues payments<br><br> I have just sent a revised membership roster to our web-master, <br>so you will be able to check soon to see if you are current. If you <br>are on the list, please accept our thanks and please continue to be <br>active in club activities and contesting. If not on the list, please <br>consider re-joining us, get active on the air, and join in club/team <br>activities in the contests. Its always fun to participate in group <br>competition, and our club has a history of placing high in team competition.<br><br> Hope to see you at the Rayne hamfest on March 11.
