<DIV><STRONG><FONT face="Courier New">"Wining" contest op...hihihi! I have
no antenna farm here in Rayville or anywhere. I live in the middle of the
golf course here in Rayville. All I have at this time is a ground mounted
SteppIR vertical and a fairly good radial system. This makes my station
very difficult. I have all the noise from the vertical and I hear from all
360 degrees. That doesn't stop me from contesting. And my K3 makes it
work. I can hear through the noise and seperate the signals very
well. And having owned an Icom and FT-1000MP Mark V, I know what
hears better under these tuff conditions. Maybe someday I'll get to
operate at a real contest station. As long as I can bring my K3.

nobody with a 3 element tri-bander at 50 feet could WIN a contest. I
agree. I also say that even if you are the loudest station on the
air in order to WIN a contest you still need to hear all the 3 element
tri-banders on the air. QSO's mean points. You aren't going to do that
with a good receiver. You need the best receiver to back up that loud
