I am currently planning on running as a single op, but may end up with a
guest op. Just don't know yet.<br>

IF you are planning to be a single, you are eligible to join a team.
Teams can be up to five people. Last August, the SSB NAQP was the first
contest after the club's official formation, and we fielded <u>two</u> 5
man teams. One made 14th place and the other got 33rd. Still not bad for
our first outing. I know we have several LCC members who prefer CW, so
lets get active and show them that we DO have some contesters here in the
LCC. <br>

Teams must be pre-registered, so if you want to be on a team, just let me
know (preferably direct). I'll put one (or more) together, and get them
registered. If you specifically want to be teamed with someone else, let
me know that as well. I'll post team members here on the reflector as
they are formed.<br>

There are several key points in the rules for the NAQP that you need to
<br>
remember if you're going to jump in for a few QSO's over the next two
<br>
weekends.<br>
<br>
First off, there is no High Power category - 100 watts is the maximum
<br>
power, as there is only Low Power and QRP.<br>
So if you run High Power, you're going down as a checklog.<br>
<br>
Multipliers count on all bands, so if you snag someone from the Carribean
<br>
or Alaska on one band, maybe try to move them to another band that might
be <br>
open.<br>
<br>
While Multi-ops can work the entire 12 hour contest period, single <br>
operators can only operate a maximum of 10 hours.<br>
<br>
Your off times must be a minimum of 30 minutes, which you may as well
make <br>
a minimum of "31" minutes so you don't foul up your log.<br>
<br>
"Off time management is one of the more interesting challenges in
the <br>
NAQP," says Kirk Pickering K4RO.<br>
<br>
"I have a general plan based on past experience, but like most
things in <br>
contesting, it's more of a dynamic decision."<br>
