Thank you all for attending!

The Louisiana QSO Party is now less than a week away. I encourage you
to get on the air, find a frequency, and call CQ. The out-of-state
participants will need stations to work. And, here is a contesting tip
that helped me last year in the LAQP. Sometimes you may wish to operate
in a contest, but find there isn't much activity on the air for that
specific contest, yet the bands are full of participants in other
contests. No problem! Learn what they need for their exchange and give
it to them, and get them to give you what you need for your contest
exchange. You log what you need and submit your log for the contest
that you want to enter. As a courtesy, also submit your log to the
other contest(s) as a check-log.

The W5L Louisiana Purchase Special Event, sponsored by the NorthEast
Louisiana Amateur Radio Club in West Monroe was announced. The event
will run for 7 days in late April. LCC members are invited to
participate. The details of the event, including an online scheduling
tool, will be found at http://w5wz.com/W5L

Also, if a single member or a group of LCC members would like to operate
Field Day, or any event, contest, or period of time using the N5LCC
call, please contact the Trustee, Scott Dickson, to make arrangements.

The meeting didn't have a formal presentation, but rather followed a
discussion sparked by the question "What have you done new using
technology, technique, or strategy to improve your contest scores or
enjoyment in the past year?"

We had excellent discussion on a variety of topics:

Dave, K5UR discussed how he had reduced noise in his station by
extensive grounding.

Bert, W5ZR discussed lightning, and the preventative techniques tried,
tested, and sometimes failed at his station

Mike ? shared his excitement making and confirming Alaska on 80 meters
with a low dipole

Mark K5ER and Scott W5WZ shared their recent experience with N1MM+ and
"partner mode"

Scott W5WZ discussed experiments and success he and W5LA had done with
N1MM+ and "distributed Wide-Area Networking" for use in a distributed
Multi-Op situation

Roland NA5Q discussed how he and Charles K5UR are remote controlling
their stations

Scott W5WZ discussed having a Run1 station, and a Run2 station
interlocked with a S&P2 station in a Multi/Two contest

Now that some creative things are on the table, please continue the
discussion!

73, Scott, W5WZ
