Topics from Scott's list we have not addressed or if they were I missed the
reply
My replys in larger text

I’d like to know more about the “distributed multi-op” that AA5AU
had participated in
Apparently I misunderstood it to be that, however it is pretty much Remote
Contesting as discussed in the April QST Steve

I’d be interested to have an opportunity for a weekly or bi-monthly
Skype style meeting. This perhaps could develop into including short
training/teaching/how-to presentations.

Not sure more than two of us are ready to embrace this, so it is tabled

Remote station operation – I’m happy to share my experience, and
also to learn ways to improve.
I am always eager to learn more about almost anything Ham Radio wise

Questions I have on my mind to improve my station and operating
experience:

a. How to incorporate more automation, particularly in the area of
rotator control and stack switching. Has anyone use Arduinos and relays to
homebrew a sort of Green Heron wireless anywhere system?

A search for Arduino will yield many apps and hardware schemes out there
some open source and some plug n play purchase items

b. Optimizing receive antennas – doing the work to “balance” signal
strength, such that an antenna that simply sounds louder is not mistaken
for actually being better.

Optimizing receive antennas - Now that I have a beverage that I can use to
compare with my 9el vert rcv array I am attempting a solution to this,
currently playing with cw Skimmer's Telenet feed with each of the two
arrays

for comparison - too early to tell if this will help
make the selection process less of a "I feel this one works better" or more
defined choice
I am also working on SDR field strength recordings with db reports

c. Leveraging the complete microHam MK2R+ hardware and software – I’m
using the “in-the-ears” and transmit audio switching – there is much more
that I don’t know how to leverage to my benefit.
I searched High and Low for this my gut feeling is Mark K5ER is more of an
expert in this area and am anxious for him to share his thoughts with us on
it

d. Building W3NQN style bandpass filters in an auto-switching
configuration – plans on-line, but I don’t have the proper test equipment
to tune them.

Ditto ! I can not warrant spending the dough on the 403a legal limit band
pass filters, but would love to home brew some of my own

7. Understanding the VE7CC cluster filtering and optimizing the setup
(and changing it for various contests, dx chasing, etc.)
I will work on a short power point and a video demo of this if anyone is
interested

8. N1MM+ has a partner mode. Who has used it? Are there strengths
here that could be leveraged in multi-op events?
Something I think would be great to play with at FD before we use it live
in a "Real" contest

Cheers!

steve
