[LCC] Fwd: 2015 LaQP inspires a new mobile contester!

I got the note below from Peter Lunn, N4UP, who I worked seven times in
LaQP 2015. After his experience working the rovers in the LaQP, he decided
to be a rover in the SC-QP and NC-QP (back-to-back, operating three
consecutive days and logging 651 Qs). He's gone as far as install an
MFJ-1775 rotatable dipole that he raises and uses for receive while
stationary.

Hopefully we'll be hearing from him again in LaQP 2016.

Matt, thanks !  That’s a great story.



Turns out my fixed-out-of-state experience in the 2015 Louisiana QSO Party,
working mobiles as they moved from parish to parish, is what gave me the
idea to do likewise here.  You and I worked seven times in LAQP 2015, and
four were new parishes for me.



Clearly for this past weekend I lacked planning and preparation.  All I had
was a vague plan to swing through six South Carolina counties.  I do need
to work out some bugs, and next time I will have a real plan.  This time I
stayed on 40 meters the entire SC-QSO Party, in part because the runs were
so good, in part because when one run died out it was time to move to the
next county.  I really should have planned for 20 meters as well.



Anyway, thanks for sharing that story !  Makes me almost want to go back
and take pictures.
