Hello everyone.. Hope everyone is doing well.

While it is still about 1 month away, we're trying to line up operators
for the upcoming ARRL DX CW contest that starts Friday evening, February
14th @ 6PM through Sunday, February 16th @ 6PM (48 hours).

Yes, I realize the 14th is Valentine's Day, but I can't change the
dates.. Anyway, I wanted to extend the invitation for you to join us,
for a little while or for the entire period. Since we will have two
stations available, you should be able to get plenty of BIC time if you
so desire.

Remember, this contest is the one where the DX has to work us and
Louisiana is a multiplier for them. We will use the DDXA club call, W5RU.

In the last few contests, Joe, W3GW, has been a real help, joining me to
cover the graveyard shifts - so if you like to operate during daylight
hours, you will not have to worry. But on the other hand, I don't mind
giving up my seat if you wish to run 40/80 or 160 meters.

And between Dallas and myself, we can provide you sleeping
accommodations for the contest.

Just an FYI - we claimed 8.2M points for CQWW CW last November, the best
we've ever done from this station. That was nearly 3800 Qs.
I'm hoping we can do over 4000 Qs this time around - conditions and
participation permitting.

The new 80M 4-SQ plays real well and with the addition of the KT34XA, we
now have more independent control over the 10/15 and
20/40 antennas. And while I'm sure it is not of great interest, I'm
installing a nearly full size 160M vertical to help with some mults on
that band.

The SSB version of the contest occurs on the weekend before Mardi-Gras,
beginning Friday, February 28th @ 6PM till Sunday, March 2nd @ 6PM.
Same rules apply to both contests. We plan to operate that as well.

So think about it and if you would like to help us either of those
weekends, we will surely appreciate your help. And of course, we will
provide all the meals. But if you would like to bring anything, that is
welcome as well. In addition, if you know of someone who might like to
join us, please pass this note on to them.

Good DXing / 73
