Hi Jim,
Its just another neat tool for those who enjoy chasing and
confirming DX, then comparing your stats with others within your club, and
comparing your club with other clubs. Steve, KG5VK, has a nice powerpoint
on it. It will answer most questions, and some simple poking around on it
can lead you to some nice tools, such as predicted propagation paths based
on actual data, etc. The presentation is available at:

After working a contest, or in the case of DX, maybe once or twice
a month, you upload your logs to Clublog. Many DXpeditions u/l their logs
to Clublog as well. You can log on and see if you are "in the log" to know
whether you need an "insurance" contact. Once you see you are there, many
have an "OQRS" option. Since your qso info is already matched, you click
it, approve the payment amount (paypal), and the money is on the way
without you having to fill out cards or address envelopes, or worry about
overseas postage. Faster and about 1/2 the cost of traditional QSLing.
Once your logs are up, you can see worked / confirmed DX by band
or mode. To many, the tables are easier to read that the country matrix
displayed on LOTW.

Hope this helps,
73,
Mark, K5ER
