Marsh had a couple of great questions and I have embedded my answers with
his questions here......

Great Questions Marsh,

I have a ClubLog account. By far what I use most on ClubLog is OQRS. I have
not uploaded of all my LoTW QSO data to ClubLog and see no reason to.

In your case there is little need for Minning of Data and comparison of
worked, verified,QSL's etc

Because of the very small number of Enities you still need, your ability to
watch for what you need is pretty easy

There is other record keeping I use to keep up with what entities I still
need (there are only 6), and what entities I’ve worked and confirmed by
band and mode.

Yes, and you are very meticulous and able to accurately track needed versus
what you have worked or just need confirmed

you are a meticulous guy (and I mean that in a nice complimentary way)

I have never been the very precise or Meticulous sort with record keeping

it is why I use a CPS for my Business Taxes etc etc

ClubLog is a very accurate database, in fact that is where it excels,
accuracy

It allows me to see things (by comparison of data) visually

What are the features of ClubLog you want to use but can not, but could if
LCC were a member?

Club Tables

Allows us to see how we compare with each other

Of course knowing where I stand in DXCC totals as compared to you is scary
for me :)

But How about as compared to Mark or Scott or Marcell N5VU

Maybe we want to have more interstate challenges or one to one races to 5
Band DXCC

or we are just curious

As far as I know QSOs confirmed on ClubLog do not count for any ARRL or
IARU award. Is that not correct? Any it seems that ClubLog is administered
by only one guy. Is that not correct? What if he gets run over by a beer
truck? What happens to ClubLog then? I don’t mean to diminish the
usefulness of ClubLog. If you benefit from it, then use it and enjoy!

Correct !

ClubLog offers no awards, it only allows tracking of current data

It allows me to visually see on Charts what I need, versus what I have

in many differing ways, like Verification from ARRL on 15m cw versus
worked, QSL's etc.

Or same structure for all bands and just one mode or all bands and modes

For me Visualization of the data is the key

to helping me convert QSO's to Verified DXCC entities

with the ARRL

Yes I am sure if Michael gets hit by a Beer Truck it will ruin our day, not
as much as his of course :)

esp since he has over the past several years embraced using several other
ops

in a Team to help him manage clublog

Last year he recruited Help desk volunteers

to start managing clublog

I use OQRS for both incoming and out going

esp with respect to my short jaunt to Ti5

amazing how many Ja's I have sending me a small donation

to get their cards sent direct to them

It is faster and more efficient than them sending snail mail and IRCS

I get the email addy from Clublog and I download the file and print it

heck now I don't even have to download it

as he now have a javascript tool set built in that allows most of the work
done in the web browser

Prints envelops label and the label for the back of my card

PayPal collects the small amount of money

Yes some are abusing the OQRS feature by request $5 for a card

but that is a different subject

Another maybe often over looked feature is if you use a logging tool set
like DxLabs, Dx4Win and others

is most can be setup to once a station is logged the q is auto uploaded to
ClubLog

and if you were to work zm90dx and you happened to think it was Auckland
/Campbell

ClubLog would tell you, No it's not and show you why :)

Day before yesterday a local op called me excitedly to tell me
Auckland/Campbell is on 10m cw

I said are u sure what's the call, I said no he is a New Zealand spec event
station

I knew that because ClubLog's tool set had educated me to this fact.

If your paper logging or use a computer log that does not directly
interface with cluglog,

you can of course use the Callsign checker tool within ClubLog

Clublog allows me to post a log search tool on my QRZ page as well as my
own KG5VK.com website

using a java tool set or Frames tool set

So if you are wanting LA for WAS or thinking you worked me but you still
need LA on 80m

for WAS you can see if your in my log and maybe I just need a reminder to
send you ur darn card :)

This helps me help others

that want my card, dxers do not work contesters that do not QSL

so I make an extra effort to send any requested QSLs

and the bottom line.........

it's fun

ClubLog for me is like EZNEC is for you,

which (EZNEC) I am struggling to learn to love :)

and we just need Ten LCC members with a clublog account

does not mean you need to fall in love with it

or even use it

Just thinking there are seven more LCC guys using clublog

to get their total near what Mark and Ted have :)

PS anyone reading this thread and wondering / wanting to know know a bit
more

about clublog *before* getting a free user account from it

here is a link to a power point file I created on the subject that might
help...
