Comments:

The Three Stooges, Larry / N8OO, Curly / W5WMU, and Moe / W5XZ
decided, at the last second, 'hey, lets do All Asia, multi-multi...'

We 'passed a good time' in Lafayette, at Dr. Sonnier's station. Our
first attempt in this event.  There are LOTS of times when there is
nothing coming in from Asia on any band in Louisiana, but we called
 everybody we could hear.

Remarkably, JA3YAA came through on 10m, on N8OO's new rotary OWA,
30 to 40 degrees south of true polar heading. And, HZ1SI was so
strong on 15 we asked him to try 10m, which he did, and we worked
 him too! ask me
off list about Pat's wager for a JA on 10m....ha ha ha

160m was useless, 80m marginally better. 40 was best pre-
JA sunset then fizzled both mornings. Nothing from the middle east.
 20m was our redemption with a 5 / 5 stack N8OO built. We learned,
the hard way, most of the stackmatches are broken. 15 m was flakey,
but there were some remarkable signals, especially 9V1, post their
sunset in our mornings...and our 15m monoband stack to JA is busted
so we used a pair of TH-7's at only 30 / 60 feet..

exceptional signals heard from VK4CT, FO8RZ, 4O3A and, of course K0RF.
( WB0DJY ) all bands, almost all the time.

We had a great time combining our different skill sets. Pat = multi
decades of experience and common-sense. Victor = works 'like a slave'.
and me = EZNEC5 and my Vector Network Analyzer (vnwa2.6)...put the
3 of us together = DYNAMITE !! Even if we don't win anything, we
 all
learned something and had fun. we didn't even blow up anything !!

Tnx JARL for a good event. 73 all, & cu in RadioSport

W5XZ, dan
