My first ever VHF contest. If I hadn't fiddle-farted around in the RTTY contest, I would have done better. Plus I had to take the
XYL out shopping and to dinner this afternoon while the band was still hot. Nonetheless, I'm extremely happy with the way the
SteppIR performed on six meters.

185 grid squares seems to be a lot for a contest. Is it?

Comments:

I was looking forward to my first ever VHF contest. Little did I know it would turn out this well. I was working the LDC RTTY
contest and it was slow so decided to call CQ on 6 meters and ended up working 102 stations in one hour.
That was pretty impressive. I ended up abandoning the RTTY contest but still unable to do a full effort in this one either. So I'm
pretty happy with my score. Looking forward to more VHF contests!
