[LCC] low band antenna experience

My point of view is Yes the K3 is the state of art radio

The FT-1000MP is not that far down in performance

The cost to benifit ratio for many, including my self is currently
placing the FT-10000MP as the radio of choice (esp since any change would be
adding Two K3's)

The small performance difference between a K3 and an FT-1000MP
can be easily made up by a skilled op and while the Radio Sport teams were
restricted to use of the antennas provided
most ops can increase their station performance thru better antennas, than
they can thru purchase of the latest and greatest rig.

The Top performing rigs are so close together that most amateurs will not
benifit greatly enough to justify
throwing money at a new rig

That said,  yes there is a K3 in my future just not right now
My priorities are.......

*   better receive antenna performance
*   a log periodic  (possibly a summer)
*   increasing the height of two of my current towers
*   continued maintenance on my current antenna farm
